22 Nov Brit Sec’s 5th year at Friday Night Feast 2017
Brit Sec has completed their 5th year as providers of security for Jamie Oliver’s television production Friday Night Feast 2017.
This year the filming was extended from eight to twelve episodes, making it a full month assignment for the Close Protection and Set Security Team. The whole month of September was spent nearly a mile and a half out at sea on Southend Pier, the longest pier in the world, filming the show, which included thirteen high-profile celebrity guests from both the UK and USA.

All of the guests and the hosts, Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty, required full and comprehensive Close Protection due to the production being made in the public domain. The Close Protection team’s remit also included transporting the celebrities to and from the filming location, limiting any potential interference from paparazzi and ensuring their safety and wellbeing during their time on the set.
Danny Mondesir, who has undertaken the role of Jamie Oliver’s Personal Protection Officer for the last 4 years said, “It’s been absolutely fantastic working with the production team during what has been a long task for all involved. This assignment has extra challenges and risks and the extended length of the assignment has meant that the bond and professional relationships have grown even stronger between the key members of the production team and the representatives from Brit Sec. It’s an absolute honour and pleasure to be given the opportunity by both Brit Sec and Jamie Oliver Productions to provide a robust and comprehensive security and Close Protection service”.
Jamie Oliver himself regularly updated his personal Instagram with updates on the production. Some of these updates included the Brit Sec team and provided exciting snapshots of what happens behind the scenes.
